Flooding of Aberdeen Shul Premises

“The Shul as it was and how we want it to be”

The UK’s most northerly synagogue has been without a home for the festivals following serious flooding caused by a faulty washing machine. Aberdeen’s community of barely two dozen members had overseen a major upgrade of the four-floor building over the past two years. But much of the work will have to be redone given the sodden wiring and paintwork. “Everything is wet, damp and smelly,” said the community’s Debby Taylor.

Glasgow Friends of Israel member Walter Hecht has run two half-marathons for this cause over the past few weeks, but is still raising funds for the synagogue. You can sponsor him using the link below. Any amount will be gratefully received, and with your generosity the most northerly shul in the UK will survive.
