Ken is the editor of the daily Diary column in the Herald newspaper which records the humorous, daft and odd events that take place in Scotland, particularly in the Glasgow area. Glasgow humour is said to be unique and the column, with the help of The Herald’s readers, records the funniest examples of West of Scotland wit.

Ken is a former pupil of Hillhead High School, and worked on the Irvine Herald, the Wishaw Press and the Rutherglen Reformer before becoming a reporter on The Evening Times. He moved to the Herald initially as a reporter and then as Diary writer, and has published several books based on the Diary. Ken is married to Laura Purcell and lives on the Southside of the city.
