This Sunday’s Open Day at the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre has a special guest speaker, Phillip Mendelsohn. Philip’s great uncle, Julius Diamond, died 100 years ago on the 8th October 2017. Having been a student at Glasgow University during WW1, he gave up his studies to enlist and was lost flying over enemy lines in October 1917. His older brother, Jack, had died in the Dardanelles campaign in 1915.
Philip will be speaking at 2:30 pm. Please join us as he shares their story, with accompanying photos and documents, and help us to commemorate brave lives cut short.
