On the seventh night of Chanukah, a special atmosphere was created at GRS with a communal candle lighting. Congregants brought along their own chanukiot and everyone joined in with the familiar Chanukah songs. The candle lighting was followed by a Shabbat Chanukah Friday night service, led by Howard & Fiona Brodie, before a Kiddush featuring latkes and doughnuts finished off a thoroughly enjoyable celebration.
